Group Session Coaching with Dr. Heinig!

Staff may choose to attend one or both sessions. These sessions won’t be recorded. Prerequisite for attending the coaching training is to have completed, either the live Offering Group Education in a Virtual Setting or the recorded session, prior to joining a coaching session.

Audience: Coaching sessions are for all staff who have already or will be implementing group nutrition and breastfeeding education using video technology and have completed the Offering Group Education in a Virtual Setting training webinar. Note: Facilitated Group Discussions can be 2 or more people joining a virtual session.

Speaker: Dr. Jane Heinig

Speaker Bio

Dr. Heinig serves as the Executive Director of the Human Lactation Center. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and an Academic Administrator in the Department of Nutrition at UC Davis where she conducts research in the areas of clinical lactation,  program evaluation, child feeding decision-making, as well as infant nutrition and behavior.  Dr. Heinig received her PhD in Nutrition Science from UC Davis and has been an IBCLC for more than 20 years.  Currently on the faculty in both the Departments of Nutrition and  Public Health Sciences, she specializes in public health nutrition. She is the Graduate Advisor for the Master of Advance Study in Maternal and Child Nutrition Program at UC Davis and is an instructor in several of the courses.

Dr. Heinig served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Lactation until 2011and frequently has served as a consultant to the California Department of Public Health and other public agencies.  She has published widely in the scientific literature and is a member of the United States Lactation Consultant Association and the American Public Health Association.
