Leanne Brock – Bio

Hello, my name is Leanne Rye Brock. I am African American and Choctaw. I am the daughter of Lee Brock and Brenda Rye Brock. My relatives are from Mississippi, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

I am a mother, educator, advocate, and leader dedicated to reminding communities of the power of traditional approaches to education and healing. I hold a B.S. in Maternal Child Health with a concentration in Lactation, M.A. Cultural and Reproductive Anthropology with a concentration in Historical Trauma in the African American and Native American Communities. I am currently working on my PH.D in Educational Studies with a concentration in decolonizing systems.
