Nutrition First is pleased to be able to partner with Pregnancy Aid WIC to bring Dr. Kendall-Tackett to Washington State. She is a health psychologist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and the Owner and Editor-in-Chief of Praeclarus Press, a small press specializing in women’s health. Dr. Kendall-Tackett is Fellow of the American Psychological Association in Health and Trauma Psychology, and is President-elect of the APA Division of Trauma Psychology. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Amarillo, Texas and Research Associate at the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire. She was a founding Associate Editor of Psychological Trauma and is Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Lactation.
Dr. Kendall-Tackett specializes in synthesizing current research on breastfeeding, trauma, and health psychology. Dr. Kendall-Tackett is currently analyzing data from the Survey of Mothers’ Sleep and Fatigue. Her research interests include the psychoneuroimmunology of maternal depression and the lifetime health effects of trauma. She will lead a full day training on Breastfeeding and Postpartum depression on September 18th in the Yakima area and on September 20th in the South Seattle-Tacoma area.
