Outreach – for Pandemic EBT:
P-EBT Outreach Webinar: Monday, August 3 (3 – 4pm) – see below for link
Step by Step guide to applying for P-EBT (1)
Earlier COVID relief legislation provided significant help to hungry kids and families through the creation of Pandemic EBT for K-12 students who qualified for free/reduced price school meals, including kids who attend schools where meals are free for all children. This is a food benefit on an EBT card designed to help families to buy more food if their children qualified for f/rp meals before the school year ended. Emerging data is clear that households with children are experiencing skyrocketing rates of food insecurity – this benefit is urgently needed. Additionally, P-EBT is a critical COVID-related benefit that is available to immigrant families, and it’s a benefit that is no risk for public charge – and we know that immigrant families are facing disproportionately damaging COVID impacts on health and income.
For more than half all eligible K-12 students, they must complete an application via DSHS to get this critical food assistance – but only 16% of those families have received these benefits so far, and the deadline to apply is only 5 weeks from now. We need your outreach help to connect families with P-EBT!
