An Update from the National WIC Association:

The House and Senate Budget Conferees have until December 13th to negotiate a fiscally sustainable budget. Last year WIC funding received a 5.1% sequester cut. Unless Congress finds an alternative to sequestration through other spending cuts and/or revenue increases, these cuts will remain in place and get progressively worse over the next nine years. Tell Congress to eliminate the sequester and fully fund WIC to meet the public health nutrition needs of mothers and young children in FY2014 and beyond!

How?

1) Participate in NWA’s National Call-in Day on December 3, 2013

On Tuesday, December 3rd call the Capitol switchboard using our toll-free number: 1-855-435-7942.

Tell Your Senators and Representative (or the person who answers the phone in the office):

Your name and where you are from
That the WIC program is a vital part of your community/state
To eliminate the sequester and fully fund WIC to meet the public health nutrition needs of mothers and young children in FY2014

2) Send an email to your Senators and Representative through NWA’s web portal. All you need to know is your zip code and the letter will be emailed to your policymakers.
